Friday, April 24, 31 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 1732 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country. 26 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 17 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Uzbekistan and three - of Kazakhstan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; as well as to one citizen of Kazakhstan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; while at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia, three – of Georgia, two – of Belarus, one – of Lithuania and one – of Germany due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
two citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Russia were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Uzbekistan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 persons
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point one minor citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Russia, who did not have a notarized authorization from the other parent (an EU citizen) for the child to leave the country, was detected. While at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia departing for Serbia, who did not have a notarized consent from at least one parent for the child’s independent departure from the country, was detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – three citizens of Lithuania, one – of Ukraine and one – of Egypt.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Lithuania, two - of Latvia, two – of Belarus, one - of Russia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Slovenia, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Uzbekistan, one – of Germany and one – of China.
