Tuesday, April 21, 42 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 1591 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 36 offenders at external borders and within the country. 19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Georgia and one – of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; to three citizens of Tajikistan and one - of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to two citizens of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
two citizens of Russia, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of New Zealand were detected at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, were not in possession of valid travel document, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia departing for Montenegro, who did not have a notarized power of attorney from at least one parent to leave the country, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons – four citizens of China, one – of Latvia, one – of Afghanistan, one – of Azerbaijan and one – of Togo.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Russia, one - of Latvia, one - of Belarus, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Ukraine, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
