Tuesday, April 14, 108 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 1066 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 52 offenders at external borders and within the country. 20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki, the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Tajikistan,
as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; to one citizen of Great Britain, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen area countries in the preceding 180 days; as well as to two citizens of USA, one – of Belarus and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The Persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Ukraine and one – of Azerbaijan were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by the citizen of Azerbaijan was not initiated, the citizen of Ukraine was subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia departing for Great Britain, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 13 persons – three citizens of Estonia, three – of Lithuania, two – of Latvia, two – of Belarus, one – of Russia, one - of Senegal and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Latvia, four - of Belarus, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Austria, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one - of Moldova, one – of Romania, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
