Sunday, April 12, 79 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 901 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 27 offenders at external borders and within the country. 10 trespassers were detected at external borders. As well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners. At the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Azerbaijan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to two citizens of Russia and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – one citizen of Estonia, one – of Lithuania and one – of Colombia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens – of Belarus, two – of Kazakhstan, two – of Kyrgyzstan, one - of Latvia, one – of Georgia, one - of Moldova, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia and one – of Uzbekistan.
