Saturday, April 11, 56 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 822 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 37 offenders at external borders and within the country. 13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Tajikistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; while at the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia and one – of Germany due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
one citizen of Uzbekistan and one - of Kyrgyzstan were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 9 persons – six citizens of Estonia, one – of Russia, one – of Moldova and one - of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens – of Belarus, three – of Lithuania, two – of Russia, two – of Kazakhstan, one - of Latvia, one – of Estonia, one - of Moldova, one – of Serbia and one – of Uzbekistan.
