Friday, April 10, 46 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 766 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 35 offenders at external borders and within the country. 11 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; while at the Pāternieki and the Terehova Border Control Points entry into Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
two citizens of Tajikistan and one - of Russia were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document; were not in possession of visa or residence permit; exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by the citizens of Tajikistan was not initiated, the citizen of Russia was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – two citizens of Ukraine, one – of Estonia and one – of Morocco.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Kyrgyzstan, four – of Belarus, two – of Kazakhstan, two - of Moldova, two – of Serbia, one - of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Uzbekistan.
