On Sunday, April 5, the State Border Guard officers prevented 65 people from illegally crossing the Latvia-Belarus state border, in total this year 519 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the state border.

In total, 33 violators were detected at the external borders and within the country out of  whom 9 were detected at the external borders.

• Entry into Latvia denied to four foreigners

At the Grebņeva and Pāternieki border control points, entry into Latvia was denied to two citizens of Uzbekistan, one Russian and one Belarusian citizen due to security reasons. The persons were returned to their countries of departure.

• Violations of residence conditions were detected for one foreigner

At the Pāternieki border control point, one citizen of Uzbekistan was detected who had violated the conditions of residence - he did not have a valid visa or a residence permit. The person was held administratively liable.

• One person denied exit from the country

A Latvian citizen was detected leaving the country at the Pāternieki border control point, who did not have a valid travel document. The person was denied exit from the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence regulations were detected for six persons – five Lithuanian and one Estonian citizen.

For violations in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials have held 18 persons administratively liable or prevented them from crossing the border – six Latvian, three Belarusian, three Lithuanian, two Kyrgyz and one Russian, Moldovan, Serbian and Tajik citizens.
