On Saturday, April 4, the State Border Guard officers prevented 45 people from illegally crossing the Latvia-Belarus state border, in total this year 454 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the state border.
In total, 46 violators were detected at the external borders and within the country out of whom 26 were detected at the external borders.
• Entry into Latvia denied to six foreigners
At the Grebņeva and Terehova border checkpoints, entry into Latvia was denied to two citizens of Uzbekistan, two citizens of Belarus, one citizen of Russia and one citizen of Germany for security reasons. The persons have been returned to their countries of origin.
• Violations of residence conditions were detected for two foreigners
At the Grebneva and Riga Airport border control points, one Uzbek and one Moldovan were detected who had violated the residence conditions (they did not have a valid visa or residence permit, and the period of stay specified in the visa in the territory of the Schengen countries was exceeded). The persons were held administratively liable.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence regulations were detected for six persons - three Estonians, two Iraqis and one Ukrainian citizen.
For violations in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials have held 16 persons administratively liable or prevented them from crossing the border – four Belarusians, two Kyrgyz, two Moldovans, two Tajiks, and one Estonian, Montenegrin, Serbian and one German citizen.
