Monday, September 28, 51 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11577 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 23 offenders at external borders and within the country. 10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
1 citizen of Germany with a forged driving license was detected
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, a citizen of Germany was detected presenting to border guards a forged Polish Driving License. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents, and the forged document was seized. The person was subject to a ban on entering Latvia by vehicle.
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Israel, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; as well as to two citizens of Belarus, one - of Russia and one – of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Peru were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The both persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – one citizen of Estonia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Ukraine and one - of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, one - of Estonia, one – of Latvia, one – of Moldova, one – of Serbia and one – of Germany.
