On Saturday, March 28, the State Border Guard officers prevented 24 people from illegally crossing the Latvian-Belarusian state border, in total this year 242 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the state border.
In total, 33 violators were detected at the external borders and within the country out of whom 12 were detected at the external borders.
• Entry into Latvia denied to 5 foreigners
Two Russian, one Belarusian, one Uzbek and one Moldovan citizens were denied entry into Latvia at the Grebneva and Terehova border checkpoints due to security reasons. The persons have been returned to their countries of origin.
• Violations of residence conditions detected for one foreigner
One Uzbek citizen was detected at the Grebņeva border checkpoint, who had violated the residence conditions (did not have a valid visa or a residence permit). The person has been held administratively liable.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence rules were detected for three persons – one Lithuanian, one Estonian and one Ukrainian citizen.
For violations in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials have held 18 persons administratively liable or prevented them from crossing the border – four Lithuanians, three Belarusians, two Moldovans, two Latvians, two Serbians, and one citizen each of Russia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Great Britain, and Tajikistan.
