On Sunday, July 26, the State Border Guard officers prevented 95 people from illegally crossing the Latvia-Belarus state border, in total this year 8814 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the state border.

27 violators were detected at the external borders and within the country, and 9 border violators were detected at the external borders.

• Entry into Latvia denied to three foreigners

At the Riga Airport border control point, entry into Latvia was denied to one Azerbaijani citizen because the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and residence, at the Pāternieki border control point, entry into Latvia was denied to one Kyrgyz citizen because the foreigner had already stayed in the territory of the Schengen area member states for 90 days in the previous 180 days, while at the Grebneva border control point, entry into Latvia was denied to one Russian citizen for security reasons. The persons have been returned to their countries of departure.

• Violations of residence conditions were detected for one foreigner

At the Grebneva border control point, one Kazakh citizen was detected who had violated the residence conditions (did not have a valid visa or residence permit) in the Schengen area countries. The person has been held administratively liable.

• One Latvian citizen denied exit from the country

A Latvian citizen traveling to Turkey was detected at the Riga Airport border control point, and she did not have a valid travel document. The person was denied exit from the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or regulations were detected for six persons – two Lithuanian, two Ukrainian, one Russian and one Tajik citizens.

State Border Guard officials have held 12 individuals administratively liable or prevented them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicle and vessel operation – three Belarusian, two Romanian, two Ukrainian, one Latvian, one Kazakh, one Kyrgyz, one Serbian and one Tajik citizens.
