Friday, September 25, 52 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11436 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 38 offenders at external borders and within the country. 18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner's purpose of entry and grounds for stay were not credible, to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to three citizens of Russia and two – of Lithuania due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Great Britain were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Regarding one citizen of Great Britain and one citizen of Uzbekistan, a decision was made not to initiate administrative offence proceedings; the other persons were held administratively liable.
exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 minor citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia, who did not have notarized parental consent to travel out of the country independently, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – two citizens of Lithuania, one – of Russia, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Malta.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, three - of Latvia, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia, one - of Lithuania, one – of Moldova, one – of China and one – of USA.
