On Wednesday, April 1, the State Border Guard officers prevented 14 people from illegally crossing the Latvian-Belarusian state border, in total this year 336 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the state border.
In total, 25 violators were detected at the external borders and within the country out of whom 9 were detected at the external borders.
• Entry into Latvia denied to four foreigners
At the border checkpoints in Pāternieki and Riga Airport, entry into Latvia was denied to one Indian citizen because the foreigner did not have a valid visa or residence permit, while one Belarusian, one Kazakh and one Ukrainian citizen were denied entry into Latvia for security reasons. The persons were returned to their countries of origin.
• Violations of residence conditions were found for two foreigners
At the border checkpoints in Terehova and Riga Airport, one Russian and one Uzbek citizen were found to have violated the residence conditions - they did not have a valid visa or residence permit. The persons were held administratively liable.
• One person denied exit from the country
At the border control point of the airport "Riga" one minor Latvian citizen departing for Tbilisi was detected, who did not have the notarized consent of the other parent (the person is traveling with her mother, a Russian citizen), a Latvian citizen, for the children's departure from the country. The person was denied exit from the country.
For violations in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, State Border Guard officials have held 16 persons administratively liable or prevented them from crossing the border – four Belarusians, three Latvians, two Kazakhs, and one citizen each of Russia, France, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Romania, Uzbekistan and Germany.
