On Sunday, September 13, the State Border Guard officers prevented 25 people from illegally crossing the Latvia-Belarus state border, in total this year 11002 people have been prevented from illegally crossing the state border.
19 violators were detected at the external borders and within the country, and 8 border violators were detected at the external borders.
• Entry to Latvia was denied to four foreigners
One citizen of Tajikistan was denied entry to Latvia at the Pāternieki border control point, because the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay, while at the Grebņeva and Terehova border control points, two Moldovan and one Russian citizen were denied entry to Latvia due to security reasons. Persons returned to the countries of departure.
• One foreigner was found to have violated the conditions of stay
At the Terehova border control point, one Moldovan citizen was found to have violated the conditions of stay (exceeded the visa-free period of stay) in the countries of the Schengen area. Persons brought to administrative responsibility.
State Border Guard officials have held 11 individuals administratively liable or prevented them from crossing the border for violations in the field of vehicle and vessel operation – four citizens of Latvia, one of Russia, one of Belarus, one of Kyrgyzstan, one of Moldova, one of Romania, one of Ukraine, one of Uzbekistan.
