On Thursday, October 1, officials from the State Border Guard on the external borders and inside the country identified 37 offenders.

18 border offenders have been identified at the external borders, including:

  • Nine foreigners are denied entry to Latvia

Four Georgian citizens were denied entry to Latvia at the border inspection post of Riga because foreigners were unable to justify the purpose and conditions of entry and residence, two Georgian nationals, because foreigners have been barred from entering Schengen area countries and two US citizens, because foreigners had violated BOM Regulation No 360 of 9 June 2020 "Epidemiological security measures to limit the spread of Covid-19 infection" requirements. . Persons returned to the country of exit.

  • Infringements of residence conditions have been detected for three foreigners

Two Russian and one Ukrainian nationals were identified at the border inspection post of Terehova and Grebneva, who had violated the conditions of residence (no valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the visa residence time) in the countries of the Schengen area. . Persons are held to administrative responsibility.

In the framework of immigration control measures within the country, infringements of the entry or residence rules have been identified for 11 persons, five Moldovan, two Estonian, two Uzbek, one Russian and one Lithuanian national.


Officials of the State Border Guard called for administrative responsibility or refused to cross the border with eight persons – two Russian, two Belarus, two Polish, one Latvian and one Estonian citizen.
