On Wednesday the 28th of October, 2020 the State Border Guard's officials detected 26 offenders at external borders and within the country.
14 trespassers were detected at external borders:
- 2 persons who are on the police wanted list, were detained
At the Ventspils Port 1 non citizen of Latvia entered the country by ferry from Sweden and at the “Riga” Airport border control point 1 citizen of Latvia entered the country from Lithuania, who are on the Police wanted list, were detected. Persons, born in 1980 and 1989, were detained and handed over to the State Police Officers.
- 12 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia
At the “Riga” Airport Border Control Point 4 citizens of Georgia were refused entry into Latvia as the foreigners were not able to justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay, 2 citizens of Georgia were refused entry into Latvia as the foreigners have a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen area, while at the Ventspils Port 6 citizens of Russia were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners violated Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 360 "Epidemiological precautions to control the spread of Covid - 19 infection". The persons were returned to the exit countries.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 3 persons - 1 citizen of Lithuania, 1 – of Russia and 1 – of Ukrain.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused to cross the border by officials of the State Boarder Guard - 3 citizens of Latvia, 3 – of Belarus 1 – of Lithuania, 1 – of Russia and 1 – of Estonia.
